“About Ozzy's Australia”

Thank you for your interest in Ozzy's Australia - a travel site dedicated to, you've guessed it...Australia.

The site is maintained by me, James, with the help of a few friends and family. We felt the name “James's Australia” was never going to work, largely as no-one would remember it, but also, I am just not anywhere near cute enough...

Ozzy's Australia is and always will be free to use. The intention is to make it pay for itself some-where down the line with advertising, however, to make it work the key is to create and encourage great content.

Australia is a fantastic country to live and to visit. The idea behind Ozzy's Australia is to create a place on the web where Aussie's (and indeed every-body else) can find inspiration for future travel experiences.

Whether it's to sit on the beach for a week, go to a nearby park, trek through the bush, eat out at a favourite restaurant or visit an old friend, travel in Australia is very special - it got my vote - having just moved here recently!

A little bit about myself. I used to work for Europe's leading travel company (TUI Travel) as a commercial manager and was instrumental in building the business from a loss making operation when I joined, back in 1997, to one of the top 100 UK company's by the time I left 12 years on. Other's certainly deserve more credit for this than me...

Early in 2009, my family and I (partner Cathy and three kids - Charlotte (8), Alex (6) and Monica (4)) moved to a small town in the south-west corner, called Dunsborough - it's about 3 hours south of Perth. It's lovely here, the people are friendly and the scenery is inspiring - I took the dog for a walk yesterday and was treated to whales jumping about in the bay - how good is that!

The only downside about being here is that there is very little requirement here for over paid commercial managers! But, then it is not all about the money...
