Western Australia's Golden Outback is one big - and pretty much empty - chunk of dirt. But that's good - space works! The major population centres are the dreamy seaside town of Esperance - which has Australia's official whitest sandy beach and the gold mining town of Kalgoorlie with it's vast open pit working mine.

It is an area where the pioneer spirit lives on, where the lifestyle is still rural and atmosphere friendly. Other attractions include Wave Rock and the Wheatbelt.
