I really enjoyed my first ever Chilli Beer. Clearly sounds like a novelty, but this is a seriously brewed, top quality, very quaffable beverage.
It is not just beer with chilli powder, the chilli is infused during the brewing process and they (Dan) really know what they are doing. The beer tastes like beer, but you can taste the chilli and it leaves a lovely warm chilli aftertaste. Umm delicious.
The same thing is done with chocolate. I can’t vouch for this, as I was driving – but I’m definitely heading back to try this and the other more traditional brews on offer in the very near future.
This is because, beer aside (and the beer would be enough,) the Bushshack Brewery is a great place.
It enjoys a lovely setting, looking over green fields, forest and bushland with a very welcoming bush building. Raging fire (it is winter) and great ambience. Outside there’s a kids playground, and a room with air hockey and a mini brewing museum?!
Then there is the food. Absolutely fantastic soup, can’t recommend enough, extremely tasty, generous and served traditionally and with garlic bread.
And it is great value. Don’t bother with the vineyards – go here!
