Curtis Bay Beach is situated just north of Dunsborough and is accessed via the coastal path that runs from Dunsborough to Meelup and then onto Eagle Bay.
Or it is accessed through the bush from my house with Daisy the dog. Not sure that it is supposed to be accessed this way, but it is - there is too much that you are not supposed to do nowadays.
The good thing about this little bay is that is not accessed by road and therefore is not overly popular. However, if you park at the end of Gifford Road, it's not far to walk - 10 to 15 minutes perhaps.
It's another of those lovely little spots that pop up all along the stretch between Dunsborough and Eagle Bay.
Apparantly the history of Curtis Bay is that a man named (you've guessed it) Curtis used to make his cattle swim from here to his ship in mid-1800's.
I'm here 2-3 times a week whatever the weather...
Best Bits - Not on the road or next to a car park.
Worst Bits - Not really accessible for the disabled or kids buggies.
