Eagle Bay is where the (very) rich folk have paid for their dreams to come true.
But their beach is open to all.
Eagle Bay is north of Dunsborough and the beach faces more east than north. I haven't watched the sunrise here, as yet, but it has just occurred to me that I should! Facing east, it "enjoys" the sheltered side of the pennisular.
This beach is pretty unremarkable, given the context of surrounding beaches. It is a nice beach, white sand, blue sea - it just isn't as stunning as you think it should be.
When we firsted visited in 2008, we pulled up and decided not to stay. We drove south towards Meelup and found much nicer beaches along the way.
The only reason that we go back is that it is an official dog beach (in parts.)
There is nothing really wrong with Eagle Bay - it is just that, in my opinion, if you're looking for a breath-takingly stunning beach, there are better options just down the road.
At low tide a large shallow pool forms at the northern end creating a very good beach / sea for toddlers.
Best Bits - It's a nice beach, but there are nicer close by.
Worst Bits - None
