Tough to beat this hotel as the 5 star hotel of choice in Sydney.
Simply open your curtains to breathtaking views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Royal Botanic Gardens, all framed by the harbour.
The hotel is built within the landmark Treasury building, with a modern tower containing the hotel rooms. I had a Watsons Bay view room which overlooked the Botanical Gardens and Watsons Bay. Room size is very good for a city centre property and huge windows. It is located in the CBD, less than 2 min walk from Circular Quay one way and the Botanical gardens the other.
I would highly recommend adding the Intercontinental lounge to your nightly rate. The views from the rooftop Club InterContinental Lounge are the best in Sydney with glass doors opening onto a timber deck revealing a vista that stretches from the Harbour Bridge to the Pacific. Daily Breakfast and evening canapes included and also early checkin if available.
If you want to have a beer or wine with the most iconic view, this is the place.
Best Bits - Location and view and tough to beat, also the lobby and central atrium are beautifully restored with a relaxed elegance.
Worst Bits - Ask for a higher floor room if you have room only. If you book the lounge you will automatically get a higher floor.
