Kerriley Park Farm is located between Dunsborough and Margaret River, about 15-20 minutes from each. Whilst it's not far from modern day amenities, there is a real "bush" aura about the place.
All the chalets are located apart from each other so you do get a sense of splendid isolation! In the evening and mornings plenty of kangaroos were spotted out of the window just wondering past. The real plus was the location, it was so peaceful, surrounded by lovely trees and bush land – it felt like being in the outback, but not being in the outback, if that makes any sense at all!
On a more mundane level, there was a nice little play area for the kids, but the real highlight for them was definitely the morning feed, which lasted about an hour. There were goats, ponies, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs, but the definite star for all of us was the alpaca. What regal animals they are! That and bringing back some eggs for breakfast.
The cabin we stayed in, whilst basic, was clean and had everything that we needed. That said it was a little dated - rustic is doing it favours.
Thanks to Brent and Davina who were great hosts, very good with the kids and a mine of local information.
Best Bits - The hosts, Davina and Brett, really made an effort to ensure we were made welcome and happy to give lots and local advise.
Worst Bits - Accommodation is a bit "rustic."
